Today is a follow-up to the post I wrote about Private Label Rights content, which I basically described what it is, as well as the other type of “rights” that are available like “Reseller” and “Master Reseller” rights.
In this post I am going to talk just a little bit about some different ways you can use PLR content to; help build your subscriber list, help you create awesome sales pages and helping you with making some money online.
But first I want to say again to all you bloggers out there reading this… I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT YOU USE PLR CONTENT FOR POSTS IN YOUR BLOG!!!
Also, I am just going to go over a few simple ways here to use PLR content. If you want to really learn lots of different way to utilize it… I strongly suggest you sign-up for our FREE COURSE. It is a 2-week course where we send you a new chapter each day with lots of useful content. Okay… enough with the free sales pitch.
As I said in the previous post, PLR content comes in many forms nowadays like; articles, ebooks, graphics, software, audio and videos… and each can be used in different ways. I have never personally used any PLR audios or video yet, but I can see where they have their place.
Since I don’t want to make this some monstrous post I am just going to go over 3 different ways you can use PLR content to help you with making money online…
Create an eBook as a gift for subscribing to your newsletter. If you read my previous post, “5 Best Bribes to Build a Subscriber List” you know that offering a free eBook is a great way to get people to subscribe to your mailing list. Now finding good PLR content is a great way to create this type of gift. There is literally tons of great PLR content out there on every niche imaginable, so finding content for your eBook shouldn’t be too hard.
You probably can find an already completed eBook on whatever niche you are in, but I would never go that way. It is much better to find many different articles that you like on your desired subject and save them in a folder. Then when you find all you need… take them and lay them out in an order that would make sense to your readers.
Next comes the fun part of the process. I would then go through each article word-by-word and change them up as much as needed. I would reword them, add to them, and take away any text that was not needed. I would add links where needed, as well as affiliate links to hopefully generate a little extra cash. That is basically what I would do.
Next I would create an eCover for the book. Fortunately, I can do that myself, so I don’t have to hire anybody. But if you don’t… it is easy to find someone to create you a good one for $20 or less. Then just turn the project into a PDF file and you are done.
Create an awesome sales page – Not all, but many PLR providers that offer eBooks often give you complete sales letters along with graphics for each eBook they have available. The cool part about that is all the sale letters come with private label rights too. That means you can take your favorite parts from each sales page and create your own. I can honestly say that I have almost zero copywriting skills when it comes to creating a sales page, but I have hundreds of PLR eBooks with sales pages on my external hard-drive to grab from.
Now most of the copywriting that you get isn’t as high quality as paying someone 10K to create for you, but they do the trick. When I have a project that needs a sales page I can just grab a line or two from one source and maybe a few from another and slowly build myself my own unique sales letter. Unlike a swipe file where you use it mainly for ideas… with a PLR sales letter you can take a sentence word for word if you like, but I always think you should modify it a little.
Making money online with PLR content – There are unlimited ways to make money online with PLR content, but I will quickly go over a few of the ways I have made money over the years with it. Again, if you want more details you should sign-up for our course.
- Create an eBook and sell it. Follow the instructions I mentioned above on how to create an ebook… just make sure you really give it your own unique touch.
- Create 2 or 3 eBooks like above, but instead of selling them, offer them as FREE bonuses for purchasing a product through your affiliate link. This is an easy way to sell a lot more affiliate products.
- Create niche information sites and earn money through Adsense. Again, you definitely need to change the articles up quite a bit to make them more unique for Google and the other search engines, but I have made a TON of money from Google Adsense with a few of these type sites over the years.
- For more ways… sign-up for my FREE COURSE! *** NO PLR CONTENT WAS USED IN CREATING THAT COURSE ***
Here I go making my post way too long again, so I should stop. I was going to tell you how you can get a ton of PLR Content for FREE, but I will have to save that for tomorrow

Yikes! Didn’t think there was so much one could do with PLR articles. You learn something new everyday though, right?!
I also agree about PLR articles for your blog — big no-no.

Btw, I’ve launched at contest at my blog, similar to yours. I mentioned your contest in it too, with a link back. Hope you don’t mind.

This post has given an idea. I want to try to flip a blog, and selling a blog with an ebook increases the price of the blog.
I was always thinking about how to get someone to write an ebook, but right now, I can use PLR articles to do the task.
Doug Dillard on Wed, 5th Aug 2009 10:56 am
I actually did that with a couple of flips. It is an easy way to give your flip much more value. Just make sure to tell your potential buyer that you created the book with PLR content… unless you make SIGNIFICANT changes to it.
Typhoon on Fri, 7th Aug 2009 11:30 pm
Yes, as Doug said. Please don’t forget to specify that whether it is PLR content or Unique content. One more thing you can do with PLR content is that you can re-write them in your language then you can call it your own and unique. Easy?

I noticed about this way of making money online when buying clickbank products, they sometimes even sell you some additional e-books for half the price for few hours (I believe it’s everytime the same strategy to get people to take action as soon as possible” telling future buyer that if they don’t buy the product, they won’t have this offer anymore even if they asked them… well, it worked as I bought every ebooks from this person, but I asked for refund because a program .exe didn’t work on my macintosh, plus I already knew everything written in the e-books, but they were worth having e-books anyway, and if I wasn’t a newbie, I would have kept them.

Sounds like an easy method to gain free content without any effort. And of course, you should never publish free content with the risk of getting slammed by duplicate content.
About PLR content then. Well, personally I prefer to write my content myself and will probably never use it. The only time I would use free content is for one of my small niche sites, but then the whole purpose goes away since it will be published on more sites.
Doug Dillard on Wed, 5th Aug 2009 2:10 pm
Who said anything about not any effort? You can’t just grab a bunch of PLR content and slap it up (even though there are lot of lazy unsuccessful marketers that do) and hope to make money. As I wrote in this post and the last… you need to carefully select your content from several sources and then make LOTS of changes to it to make it your own. To me PLR content is a starting point for a project where you build upon and make better. I am not going to go into all that here, as I detail that stuff in the course… but you get the idea

Hi Doug, I will admit that I’m still warming up to the idea of using PLR content to make money online. However, this is all so new to me, and I need to time to formulate a strategy of my own to do this with. I’m not sure if PLR content has a place in any of my current projects, so I would need to start a brand new project to try this stuff out. And then maybe, I’d learn a trick or two that I could use to make my current projects better.
Doug Dillard on Thu, 6th Aug 2009 1:14 pm
Trey… did you sign-up for our course? I am sure it will open your eyes to lots of ways to make money online.
bbrian017 on Wed, 5th Aug 2009 8:32 pm
It’s interesting to see it all posted into one article. It sure makes is sound an feel like a marketing course. It’s all marketing really and we all have a products to sell. PLR Content is more for mass marketing blog and website campaigns.
Some times you can’t even tell the difference.
Typhoon on Thu, 6th Aug 2009 8:49 am
Haven’t thought of making money with PLR content but I am utilizing them for article directories and blog to create quality backlinks.
Doug Dillard on Thu, 6th Aug 2009 12:46 pm
Yep… there are lots of ways to utilize them for sure!
Extreme John on Thu, 6th Aug 2009 9:36 am

PLR and resell are rocking now..I recently brought a membership with one site.they are giving 1200+ diff products just for $37 and which we can resell on our sites.
I’ll write a post soon about this. This is really cool right?
Doug Dillard on Thu, 6th Aug 2009 12:41 pm
I look forward to reading your post!
The Gooroo @ iBlogPlanet on Sat, 8th Aug 2009 9:09 pm
TechZoomIn,
What site do you recommend for us to buy PLR packages from? I’ve seen a few DP members selling them, but I don’t really trust them fully. I want to make sure I will be reselling products which I have rights to — not ones that were obtained illegally.
Lee Ka Hoong on Thu, 6th Aug 2009 11:31 am
The idea of creating an ebook by using PLR content is cool, between I’ve not seen how PLR content looks like, I thought it’s like an 500 or 1000 words short content, so it’s difficult for us to build an ebook too right? Also, we can have any topics for the PLR content that we want right?
Anyway, it’s really new to me and I need to learn more about it. Thanks for the long post again! lol!
Regards,
Lee
Doug Dillard on Thu, 6th Aug 2009 12:42 pm
They make several different programs for changing up PLR content. I prefer to do it by hand myself… but I am sure the programs work ok too.
Lee Ka Hoong on Sun, 9th Aug 2009 10:03 am
That seems cool, I think I’m going to get PLR content and try to come out an ebook as well. Btw, do you have any idea where can we get PLR content?
Regards,
Lee

I actually had to tell someone that they shouldn’t just be posting PLR articles directly into their blog because it looked like they were stealing from someone else. I mentioned that they should take a little bit of time to at least try to rewrite it a little bit. Truthfully, I have a lot of that stuff on my computer, downloaded from years ago, and I think I’ve only ever opened one up to look at it. I might have to spend time either cleaning my computer or at least finally looking at some of that stuff.

PLR and resell rights products can be good providing you add value to them through rewriting and combining products into packages of value. Too many people are lazy and don’t take the time or effort to add value and unique content causing duplication.
Doug Dillard on Tue, 11th Aug 2009 3:12 pm
ABSOLUTELY agree Tom… and thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!
