I am going to change the order of things in my series on, “Selling Information Products”. Part 2 was going to be on some simple ways to create your first information product, but I am going to save that one for the next section. Instead, I am going to write about the best way I know of to create and sell your first information product and why I think it is the best.
As many of you know I have been making money online (doing all sorts of things) for over 10 years now, and in that time I have purchased MANY books and courses on all sorts of different ways of marketing things online. I believe the most I have ever spent on a product was around $997 which I purchased at a JV Alert Seminar. I probably never would have spent that much money on one product, but the creator gave anyone who purchased it life-time access to all his products and any future products he creates, so it was definitely worth the money to me. Plus he let us pay in in 3 installments, which really closed the deal.
Besides that one, I believe the most I have ever spent was; I bought a few products in the $497 range, many in the $97 range, a lot more in the $47 range and I cannot tell you how many in the $29.95 and under range. Almost all of them were very good products, except a few which I should have asked for my money back, but didn’t.
So why am I telling you this? Because of all the products I have purchased online to help me in my making money online endeavors, the best thing I have ever bought (to this day) only cost me $7.00. SERIOUSLY… ONLY $7 BUCKS! I am sure a large percentage of you out there have heard of this before, because it is definitely not new. But for those of you that haven’t, you should pay attention, as it is still one of the best ways to get started making money online. The product I am talking about is called the “Seven Dollar Secrets”.
What the Seven Dollar Secrets is a short 33 page eBook teaching you how you can make a ton of money online selling inexpensive (ideally around $7.00), short (around 30 pages), content-packed eBooks. Not only can you make a lot of money, but you can also build a subscriber list (who actually spend money online) at viral speed. And I am sure you know that building a list is the key to making money online for the long term.
So let me give you a quick overview of what you will learn, and more importantly what added bonus you will receive that makes the product worth many, many times more than seven dollars.
- You will learn how simple and fast it is to create a content rich eBook
- Why $7.00 is the “Magic Price” to start building your Info-Product Empire
- How you can make much more than the original $7 you charge your customers
- How to quickly build an Army of Affiliates eager to promote your book
- Why your subscriber list of paying customers will build at viral speed
- ADDED BONUS – The actual script he uses that makes all this work. I personally would spend at least $100 to purchase just the script and it comes FREE as a bonus for buying the eBook.
Now is this going to make you rich fast like one of those MILLION DOLLAR PRODUCT LAUNCHES you hear about all the time? HECK NO! What this is going to do (if you apply it) is it is going to help you get started (hopefully fast) making money, and even more importantly help you build a list of people who spend money online which is the most important thing of all. Because once you have built yourself one of those huge lists like the big gurus have, then you might be able to have one of those million dollar launches, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Let’s first get you started making some money.
SPECIAL NOTE TO ALL YOU BLOGGERS OUT THERE: If you want to make money blogging you need to do more than just write posts and paste Adsense and Banner Ads on your blog. Doug you always have some great stuff on here, and the amount of detail you put into each article makes it easy to follow. Stumbled and Twittley
Doug Dillard on Tue, 14th Jul 2009 5:05 pm
Thanks John… I probably write too long and not everyone reads my entire posts, but I hate leaving stuff out. My goal in the next few months is to hopefully build up our branding like you have. I truly love what you have done with your site and your other businesses… very cool! Thanks for the twittley and stumbled

Doug,
No worries. Your posts are all the perfect length. I see too many bloggers that lack in that area — the length of their articles. Remember, better safe than sorry. I’d rather have more detail to read, then not enough detail. Great post — stumbled!
Doug Dillard on Wed, 15th Jul 2009 12:51 pm
Thanks… I appreciate you saying that! I will not try and shorten them up then

I guess you are right. Unless one promotes affiliate programs or sell products on a blog, making money online will become difficult.
Doug Dillard on Wed, 15th Jul 2009 12:46 pm
Well all bloggers don’t want to make money, but for those that do… they need to do something than just writing posts to make that happen. Thanks for commenting
Benjamin Cip on Wed, 15th Jul 2009 10:34 am
I was thinking about selling my own products as it’s what make you earn the most of money online, along with the affiliate programs. I am determinated to make a decent income online, and believe that now I’m already making money online, I will just need to put into action everything I have planned. I will soon talk about the necessity to invest some money into online products so as to acquire a sufficient knownledge in the making money online bussiness.
Doug Dillard on Wed, 15th Jul 2009 12:44 pm
Thanks for the comments Benjamin… and I am sure you will be very successful as you seem to know exactly what you want.

Doug,
It would be nice if you let us know the skills that are necessary for making use of this tip. Especially because many of us (or is it me alone) are not that great in creating a sales page that captivates the reader or a professional looking ebook cover.
Doug Dillard on Wed, 15th Jul 2009 12:43 pm
I plan on going more into detail in the next part of the series on different ways to create info products. My goal in the next week or two is to create a video tutorial of me actually making a product and sales page so you can see how simple it is. I am not sure if you got 7 Dollar Secrets yet, but it explains everything you need to know to create your first product, as well as gives you 3 different options on how to create an ecover.
Benjamin Cip on Fri, 17th Jul 2009 11:55 am
Well, I bought the ebook from your link, and I must say that I’m really interested in promoting this products as it was interesting reading. It’s the price of a Macdo lunch, and can be sold like hotcake! Very nich stuff, thanks for sharing this! I highly recomment you the following ebook : https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii=258839&c=ib&aff=76890 I’ve bought it recently, and it’s really worth reading and can help you to improve your blog soon
Doug Dillard on Fri, 17th Jul 2009 12:48 pm
I have a printed out copy of Ebook/Workbook “31 days to Build a Better Blog” that you recommend sitting on my desk. It is really great. I got it for free as a bonus for buying some Internet Marketing book at Sitepoint.com. I have still never finished doing the entire months challenges yet, but hope to one day.
As for promoting $7 Secrets, you can probably make some money, but the real money is in creating your own product. You should read it over a few times as each time I do I get more ideas.
Benjamin Cip on Fri, 17th Jul 2009 11:59 am
Sorry it’s me again. there aren’t any edit button so I have to many another comment. I was wondering if you were about to create your own products. I don’t think we necessarily need a landing page to sell our own products, I saw some people selling their products on forum. Of course you can’t read that much people only from forum but it’s less expensive than spending money on web hosting, unless you can add a landing page to your blog… but I have no clue how to do it. I should make more research about it.
Doug Dillard on Fri, 17th Jul 2009 12:57 pm
Did you read my post on how to get free hosting? http://www.makingmoneyonline.com/never-pay-for-premium-web-hosting-again/ What you are asking is one of the reasons we always get reseller hosting accounts as you can create new hosting accounts whenever you like without having to shell out anymore money.
I am sure you can probably create a landing page using a Wordpress “page” , but I have not looked into that.
I do have a couple of products we will be working on in the next couple of weeks and I will be sure to let everyone know when they are done.

I feel that 7 dollar secrets is one of the best investments I ever made.
Doug Dillard on Mon, 20th Jul 2009 5:11 pm
Totally agree with you. Most products I buy I always wonder if I got my money’s worth. With $7 Secrets I cannot believe they charged so little. But after understanding how the software works and all the different ways you can make money with a simple inexpensive product… I understand why they can sell it for so little.

Hey Doug,
Hey there, I’m an SEO Writer who came across your site reading some blogs this morning.
What strikes me as most interesting is the fact that I should have thought of doing something like this a long time ago! That is, writing content packages and selling them. However, I think videos are the way to go. They are more instructional and can be less distributed under the counter. Still, I think there are great ebooks out there like this one that actually teach a about useful ways to make a little bit of money online. Thanks for the Post Doug. Oh, I came across your site from Luis site who talked about his BANs profit for the month.
Respectfully,

Hi Tony… Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a useful comment. I absolutely agree about using videos. The first product I am working on for this series will actually be a How-to video.

That’s great! I personally want to ultimately write about making money online but have to make it first, so i started my seo service site. We’ll see how that goes. Look forward to returning and reading about your progress.
Respectfully,
